I made this quilt for my husband's parents who live in rural Oklahoma. It was a fun project to make and visiting them was the best! All the fabric came from my stash and the pattern is a simple half square triangle. Thanks for looking :)

Belt Bags

Recently we've been sewing belt bags. We wanted to make something that would work when biking and camping to carry our essentials. First up, W made a bag from this pattern. It is a nice size for adult or child and I like that it's flat. We added velcro to attach it to the front of his bike.
I made this bag. The pattern was a video and easy to follow although I had to tweak it a bit and I ended up with extra pieces. Have you made anything recently? Thanks for reading!

Life in Quarantine
Hi! Are you in quarantine? We've been home for three weeks. Our time is spent doing school, making face masks and perler beading! Here are some crackers we made:
And a video about being thorough:

Shark!
Hey! One of my favorite projects this summer was this shark my son made. We followed McCalls pattern M7103 and the shark turned out to be a lot bigger than we expected! It was a challenging project for a five year old but very rewarding. We have named him Sharky.
Thanks for stopping by.

Quilt for Luke

There is so much joy when a new baby is born in your family. And this boy is the first for my brother and his wife. Welcome Luke! I made him this simple quilt in blues and yellows.

Quilt for Theodore

It's been snowing here in Boston so I thought it was time to do a photoshoot. This quilt for Theo has been finished for a while. The blue and red fabrics are from M&L and I paired them with a thick beige sashing and red binding. My son chose the back fabric which he was really excited about. I made it twin size so hopefully he can take it to college one day. xx

New Fabric!
It rained hard today but my boys and I made the trip to Gather Here in Cambridge for their sidewalk sale. New cushion covers are in the works!
Have a great weekend.

Fabric Baskets
These fabric baskets are a lot of fun! I made the little one first and got excited about the possibility of having a big one (or three) for toy storage. My first attempt at a big basket was a flop (pun intended) so I reinforced it with batting and some denim I had.
I'm going to make more of the little ones to hold creamer and sugar.
What have you been making?

Quilted Clutch

Hi guys. I've been working on this quilted clutch recently. It's my own design and features a chunky zipper, interior zipper pocket and pockets for pens and phone. I've been taking it to meetings when I'm not bringing my children and don't need diapers and snacks :P
The outside is quilted with some fabric you'll be familiar with (here and here!) and it has canvas inside for extra sturdiness.
Thanks for stopping by.

Cushion Refresh
We recently got a second-hand sofa (this one!) and I wanted to change up a cushion that I was tired of. I pieced and quilted some fabric, then sewed it to the original cover. One side is leftover fabric from this mini quilt, and the other is a bright blue with floral detail. Fun!

Gathered Clutch
Over the weekend I finished this Gathered Clutch. I used a tutorial from Noodlehead.
It was a fun project with lots of options. I used a canvas lining for strength and a zipper I already had.
I'd like to make something bigger next time. Thanks for stopping by!

Big Fabric Letters
My big boy turned 3 yesterday! It's such a fun age and we have lots of conversations about things (what we're going to eat, where the concrete mixer is going)... I made him these fabric letters so he could see his name up in his room.

New Fabric
These are for the twin quilt I plan to make for my almost 3 year old. He loves the airplanes.
Have a good day.

Home Made Muesli
On the sewing front I've been working on a top secret product lately, testing fabrics and such. It's exciting and challenging.
I'm also busy selling stuff on Craigslist in preparation for a cross country move. I've gotten a crazy amount of interest in a junky IKEA dresser (IKEA, I love you!) and no bites on an antique carved, marble entry way piece. Oh well.
Meanwhile I've been making muesli. This batch has no sugar or honey. We're trying not to eat cornflakes in the evenings anymore and this is our substitute.
Thoughts?

Brick Road Quilt
I finished Brick Road a few weeks ago and went to Newport Beach this weekend to photograph it. It was a gorgeous, sunny day.
After I got home from New Zealand last November, I was pretty homesick and my husband suggested I make something for my middle brother. In case he got engaged.
And he did! So now I just need to label this and send it off to him and his sweetheart. Yay!

Scrappy Strip Project
This is my latest quilting project. It's a series of scrappy strips in long lines. I was inspired by Modern Handcrafts Read Between the Lines quilt.
At present I think it will be a baby quilt but we'll see where this goes.
Thanks for popping in.
